Programs & Services

We want to move people from APATHY to ACTIVITY by providing comprehensive services that are culturally sensitive, person-centered, competent, and specific to the needs of the individual in order to promote a productive, healthy community.

Methods

We use a holistic approach to problem-solving and rehabilitation as foundational aspect of ITAV's training philosophy that incorporates the following motivational underpinnings for successful, long-term employability: engaging, enriching, encouraging, enhancing, enlightening, enriching, energizing, ensuring, equipping, entrusting, educating, and empowering.

Career Readiness

Our Career Readiness platform offers a comprehensive 8-week course to prepare our participants for the workforce. Our goal is to get individuals thinking about their purpose, future, and life goals in order to pursue careers rather than moving from job to job. Our Career Readiness Program has two stipulations:

  1. Participants must possess the desire to change their lives.

  2. Participants may not use drugs while in the program.

The course runs every eight weeks and covers a range of topics including work ethics, goal development, job etiquette, and more. We take our participants on tours at potential job facilities, practice their job interviewing skills, and help build their network to open up doors for their futures. We follow up with participants a year after their graduation.

While job placement is not guaranteed, we have had a lot of success placing our participants. Secondly, through our partnership with Cornell University and WNY Coalition of Safety and Health, we offer training.

Literacy

We offer reading comprehension, financial, and math literacy classes based on need. When participants first enter our program, we give them an assessment of math and reading skills in order to determine their need.

Emotional Wellness

We offer workshops, talks, and group gatherings to promote emotional, spiritual, and personal well-being.

We believe success begins with an understanding of self-worth, and we want our participants to develop themselves as individuals in order to pursue sustainable outcomes.

We teach that in order to have fulfilling and successful careers, a person must first make themselves whole.

Life Skills

As part of our holistic model, we teach soft skills and tools for success in life. This includes relationship development, character-building, anger management, stress management, and time management.

When our participants graduate from ITAV training, they leave with the skills to pursue purpose.

In order for an individual to have true success, job skills are not enough - they must be complemented with strong character.
